Entry requirements for Georgia

Georgia is one of the easiest countries in the region to enter — over 90 nationalities visit visa-free for up to a full year. This is a practical summary; always confirm against the official sources below before you travel.

Visa policy

Citizens of more than 90 countries — including the EU/EEA, UK, US, Canada, Gulf states (GCC), and many others — may enter Georgia visa-free and stay for up to 365 days. No registration is required within that window.

Who needs a visa

Nationalities not on the visa-free list apply online for an e-Visa through the official portal (evisa.gov.ge). The standard e-Visa allows a stay of up to 30 days; processing is usually about 5 working days.

Passport & documents

A passport valid for the duration of your stay, proof of onward or return travel, and evidence of sufficient funds or a hotel booking may be requested at the border. Travel insurance is recommended but not mandatory.

At the border

Entry is by passport stamp; there is no arrival card for most travellers. Keep any e-Visa PDF on your phone or printed. Land, air and sea entry points are all open to tourists.

Customs & currency

Standard duty-free allowances apply. Amounts of cash equivalent to €10,000 or more must be declared. Do not carry undeclared drones or certain medications without a prescription.
